Book signing at Smith Mtn Lake with Lake Writers

Saturday, Nov. 21 was great.  Six writers at "The General Store" offering our books to the locals drifting in and out of the wonderful gift shop filled with stuff!  Candles, candies, books, art, all sorts of crafts and gift ideas; it was amazing to see the variety of wares.  And the best part was the wonderful smells wafting out of the food shop where homemade candies and baked goods tempted us for three hours while we chatted, shared writing stores and marketing tips, and had fun getting to know each other.   I met Becky Mushko (Ferradiddledumday) and can't wait to read the books we exchanged.  Sally Roseveare (Secrets at Spawning Run) is marketing her second SML mystery, Curtis E. Nester is offering his "Faith Will Keep You Afloat" and Debra Cheehy (I Like Dogs) swapped one of her charming children's books for my "What A Christmas!"  Rodney A. Franklin traded his "Tyler's Shop" (a nostalgic half century of Bedford County events).  Bob VandeLinde's "Respect:Forgotten Heroes" was there.  I needed a new copy signed because we defaced my daughter, Susan's copy with a coffee mug when she loaned it to us!  What a wonderful compilation of war stories and memories!  It is a treasure and we'll take better care of our 'repaired' copy.  By the way, we sold a few books too.
